Every City for Itself in Congestion Relief
With the carcass of Measure D-the countywide congestion relief measure-still smoldering in the ashes of last week’s crushing election defeat, some South Coast politicos are actively trying to figure out some substitute funding scheme to finance road repair and alternative transit projects.

“Why is thinking something women never do? And why is logic never even tried? Straightening up their hair is all they ever do. Why don’t they straighten up the mess that’s inside?” These much beloved lyrics are from Alan Jay Lerner’s My Fair Lady, which poses the immortal question: “Why can’t a woman be more like a man?”
