Conversely, proponents of medicinal cannabis got some good news this week as one of the nation’s biggest physician-based organizations, American Medical Association, affirmed the therapeutic benefits of the illicit plant. In a reversal of its long-held opinion, the organization announced on 10/10 that marijuana has a legitimate, trial-supported medical value and that the federal government should consider revising the drug’s Schedule 1 status.
