Narcotics detectives arrested 36-year-old Jason Bell this week after they found him in possession of 50 pounds of “high grade” processed marijuana worth an estimated $160,000. He was booked into County Jail on charges of transportation of marijuana and intent to sell. The arrest was part of an investigation, said a Sheriff’s Department spokesperson, into a suspected marijuana trafficker within the City of Goleta. Detectives learned there had been an unreported burglary during which a large amount of cannabis had been stolen from a storage unit owned by a local medical marijuana dispensary, and soon after served search warrants at residences located in the 7400 block of Hollister Avenue and the 500 block of Barling Terrace.
