Come 2011, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) will hold classes in both Carpinteria and Santa Barbara. OLLI classes are for folks age 50 and older and include a wide range of topics, including Therapeutic Music to Harmonize the Human Psyche, Out of Africa: The Evolution of Homo Sapiens and the Peopling of the Earth, and James Joyce’s Ulysses and Irish Culture. There are no grades, tests, or homework; courses are two hours and run for eight weeks, beginning Monday, January 10, at the Carpinteria Woman’s Club (1059 Vallecito Rd., Carpinteria) and Thursday, January 13, at the Bronfman Center of the Jewish Federation of Greater Santa Barbara (524 Chapala St.).
