Avery Hardy
YOUNG GUN: Dos Pueblos sophomore and Indy intern Avery Hardy knows what she wants. Already planning on an East Coast college career during which she’ll study intentional politics and journalism — in preparation for her dream job with a human-rights watchdog group — Hardy, in the meantime, is occupying herself as our new high school columnist and news reporter. Hardy cut her journalism teeth as a contributor for Time magazine’s Junior Edition, and while she continues to hone her writing skills here at the paper, she also finds time to teach classical music to underprivileged girls around town. Follow 15-year-old upstart and Indian-food junkie — she said she eats “a ton of it” — at independent.com/hardy.
