Michael Shobe, the originator and muse of the annual, semi-underground acoustic music festival Shobefest, died Saturday, November 19, of liver failure. Shobe booked many concerts for the SohO Restaurant and music club. A lover of nature, he knew the habitats and Latin names of practically every plant in the Santa Barbara foothills, sharing with countless SBCC students his knowledge and enthusiasm.
