On Tuesday, November 29, UCSB’s Interdisciplinary Humanities Center will host a special screening and talk called It’s a Wonderful Life: Commerce, Community, and Christmas. The event will include a screening of the classic 1946 black-and-white Christmas film, followed by a talk with UCSB Professor Mark Rose about the movie as a dramatic allegory for the modern-day financial crisis and libertarian fundamentalism. The screening begins at 4 p.m. In the McCune Conference Room (Humanities and Social Sciences Bldg. 6020) at UCSB. Call 893-3907 for more info.
