Fiona Ma to Run for State Board of Equalization

Assemblymember Fiona Ma, who recently married State Senate candidate and current Oxnard Harbor Commissioner Jason Hodge, said she will be running for a State Board of Equalization seat in 2014, according to reports. The district she is eyeing stretches from the Oregon border down the coast and encompasses all of Santa Barbara County. The seat’s incumbent, Democrat Betty Yee, is termed out in 2014. Ma herself will be termed out of the Assembly next year, the same year as Hodge’s State Senate race. He is likely facing Democrat Hannah-Beth Jackson and Republican Mike Stoker in the June primary.
