on Google A recent study by UCSB political scientist Matthew Potoski and Yale economist Matthew Kotchen found that NCAA football coaches are anything but unbiased in their weekly rankings of the country’s top 25 teams. According to the study, coaches on average rank their team more than two full spots higher than it should be and teams from their own athletic conference almost a full position more favorably. Coaches also tend to rank teams they’ve beaten higher.
