Breaking into the competitive world of golf apparel is no easy feat, but Santa Barbara-based company Part Time Golf has two major things going for it: One, it’s linked to a golf-focused social media site that’s launching this week called The GolfBook (which used S.B.’s Alex Estrada Websites and PayJunction too), and two, actor-golfer Bill Murray picked up one of the hats when they first hit the market, wearing it during high-profile rounds at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am in 2010 and 2011 and sporting it on the cover and pages of Golf magazine.

“Part Time Golf Company is a new apparel brand for the casual golfer in all of us!” explained founder Troy Hamilton, who works at Samy’s Camera by day and currently boasts about 100 members on the social media site from four countries. “It’s a brand going after a broader golf audience acknowledging the appeal of the game within the action sports demographic, and it’s turning out to be quite the Cinderella golf story.”

In Santa Barbara, you can pick up one of the stylish hats or T-shirts at The Flip Flop Shop in Paseo Nuevo, or just check out the Web site, iparttimegolf.com.
