State Accrediting Commission Visits City College

A three-person team from the state’s Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges traveled to Santa Barbara City College earlier this month as part of a follow-up visit in the wake of allegations levied against the school this past summer concerning the behavior of SBCC’s Board of Trustees.

City Approves Funding for Grease-to-Energy Facility

The City Council approved spending up to $850,000 to install the equipment necessary to intercept all the fats, oils, and greases that would otherwise get dumped down the city’s collective drains — or shipped to repositories in faraway places like Bakersfield or Fresno.
