S.B. Realtor Richard Box Arrested for Sex Crimes
Turned Himself in Monday After Detectives Obtained $2 Million Arrest Warrant
Santa Barbara realtor Richard Box was arrested December 16 on multiple charges stemming from a sexual assault investigation, police said. According to SBPD spokesperson Sgt. Riley Harwood, detectives obtained a $2 million arrest warrant for 69-year-old Box on the following charges: false imprisonment by force, rape, intimidating a witness by force, assault with a deadly weapon, peeping with a concealed camera, battery, and violation of a court order. The week prior, officers had responded to a disturbance call at Box’s home on the 200 block of Las Ondas. From there, a sexual assault investigation began that involved two victims, said Harwood. Due to the ongoing nature of the case, no more details are being released at this time, he said.
