A 14-acre stretch of land on Arroyo Burro, near the intersection of Foothill and Barger Canyon roads, now belongs to the City of Santa Barbara’s Creeks Division. The department also manages a tree-restoration program just upstream from that parcel, home to about 1,800 feet of creek frontage along Barger Creek. The division’s acquisition of the property came with a conservation easement for a neighboring parcel so as to allow the department to protect another 290 feet of the creek.
