“Every year, I question what our little paper has to offer for a year-end wrap-up,” said longtime Indy photo editor as he put together this week’s issue. “But then, I struggle to pare down the hundreds of images we should run.” With help in 2014 from performing arts photo czar David Bazemore and Scene in S.B. shooter Caitlin Fitch, Wellman and team covered world-class entertainers, championship sports, life-changing news, and everything in between. “And best of all,” Wellman said, “most of the assignments are bike-able.”
