I won’t repeat the litany of horrors attached to this new prison for students, except to remind the reader that 94 percent of the 4,500 planned occupants will have no window, no natural light, no visual connection to their environment.

Where’s the Water?

You can modify height and density requirements to fit in more housing, and you can wish away the inherent parking and traffic problems, but you cannot tell renters they can’t use water.

As a public health nurse, a survivor of mental illness, and an alumni of the University of California, Santa Barbara, I am stunned to hear that Chancellor Yang and the Regents of the University of California are considering the seriously flawed dormitory design of amateur architect Charlie Munger.
