UC Santa Barbara sponsored a talk with five professors on March 1 in which they discussed the latest on vaccines, what’s the difference between them, and the other methods at hand to reach immunity against COVID-19. The conversation features virologist Carolina Arias, microbiologists Stu Feinstein and Chuck Samuel, psychobiologist Scott Grafton, and Joe Incandela, a professor of physics and the campus’s vice chancellor for research. Despite the “ologists” in their titles, the professors offer important information in language comprehensible for the lay person.

Moderator Andrea Estrada, head of the school’s Public Affairs office, could not cram all the questions sent by live viewers into the hour-long format. Additional and somewhat more technical information is presented in a Q&A gathered by Public Affair’s Sonia Fernandez at “COVID-19 Prevention and Intervention.”
