Residents have until January 6 to map the four districts from which the city will choose its councilmembers. (The mayor remains a citywide vote.) Go to DrawGoleta.org for all information necessary to draw maps, which now can include 2020 Census demographic information, or view this instructional video for more.
The next steps will be to post all the maps drafted up for review on January 19; a review by the Public Engagement Commission for recommendations to the City Council on January 26; and the council’s review of draft maps on February 1. The public is welcome to be involved in all phases of the process.
