The 28th annual Santa Barbara International Film Festival kicked off last night with the world premiere of Miranda’s Victim, and most of its star-studded cast in attendance — Abigail Breslin, Mireille Enos, Emily VanCamp, Josh Bowman, Luke Wilson, Ryan Phillippe, Enrique Murciano, Andy Garcia, Nolan Gould, John Buffalo, Sebastian Quinn, and Taryn Manning, along with director Michelle Danner, and writer/producer George Kolber. Santa Barbara Mayor Randy Rowse opened the program and SBIFF Executive Director Roger Durling urged moviegoers to embrace the subtitles (found throughout the film lineup, not in the opener), as well as community formed with fellow film lovers.
