Rods and Roses Revs Up Carpinteria

The 26th annual Rods and Roses Festival revved up Carpinteria this Saturday, July 1. The classic car show draws vehicle enthusiasts from the community and beyond, with more than 6,000 attendees this year. 

In addition to flaunting impeccably restored historical vehicles, Rods and Roses also serves as an opportunity to drive home philanthropy in the community. Cofounder and Director Mike Lazaro stated that the show “creates awareness and opportunities” and donates funds raised to multiple local nonprofit organizations. Following the car show was Carpinteria’s “world famous” Independence Parade, to quote commentator John Palminteri, who was joined by 8-year-old Siena Kelly at the announcer’s platform. The small town parade features pillars of Carpinteria, ranging from EJ Harrison and Sons Waste Management, to City Council members, Carpinteria’s Seniors Group, and Carpinteria High School cheerleaders, among others.
