Catholic celebrants honoring Our Lady of Guadalupe, patron saint of the Americas, walked up State Street from De la Guerra Plaza on 12/9. Her feast day is officially on 12/12. According to legend, the Virgin of Guadalupe appeared to Aztec farmer Juan Diego in the 16th century, miraculously filling his tunic with roses. The State Street procession culminated with a mass at Our Lady of Sorrows.
