Graduate violinist Gulia Gurevich will present a virtual master’s recital with pianist Erik Lawrence on Monday, November 30, 2020 at 6 pm as a YouTube Premiere via the Department of Music’s YouTube channel. The program will include works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven, and Johannes Brahms. Gurevich is a student of UC Santa Barbara faculty member Ertan Torgul.

About the Artist

Gulia Gurevich is a violinist and a violist of the Prima Trio, a mixed ensemble, winner of the Grand Prix and Gold Medal at the Fischoff Chamber Music Competition. As a soloist and a chamber musician, Gulia has performed in Carnegie Hall, Merkin Hall, Disney Concert Hall, and Benaroya Hall, among many others. Gulia Gurevich is a cofounder of the Nelli Shkolnikova Academy in France and is also an Artistic Director of the “Classical Concerts on the Hill” concert series in the Los Angeles area. Ms. Gurevich taught masterclasses at the Oberlin Conservatory and San Francisco Conservatory, among others, and she has recently been invited to be on a violin jury of the International Violin Competition in Braga, Portugal. A graduate of Indiana University and Oberlin Conservatory, Gulia is pursuing a Doctorate of Musical Arts from the University of California, Santa Barbara as a student of Professor Ertan Torgul. Gulia is grateful to play a 1915 violin by Annibale Fagnola, generously loaned to her by Mr. and Mrs. Van den Honert.
