Connard Hogan, an SB resident for thirty years, Vietnam Veteran, award-winning author, and retired Marriage and Family Therapist, announces the release of his latest book Barbwire, Brothels and Bombs in the Night: Surviving Vietnam and local book signing on Thur. June 29th at 6 pm. at Wylde Works (609 State Street).
Hogan will be interviewed by Rachel Sarah Thurston, a long-time resident SB resident, SB Writers Conference Consultant, and branding and marketing coach with “State Of Sparkle,” about his process of writing this memoir and his struggle to transition into manhood while surviving the Vietnam War serving as an Intelligence Analyst, mid-1969 to mid-1970. Ultimately, through his healing journey, Hogan awakens to the lasting effects of trauma and PTSD, and comes to understand that it’s not about the forgetting…it’s about the remembering.
Join Hogan and Thurston as they read excerpts and explore the writing of his memoir. The discussion will be followed by a Q&A and book signing.
