Renee & Jeremy with Rich Jacques

Renee & Jeremy are known for their hush indie-folk originals and covers that transform classic songs into quiet mantras. Solo artists in their own right, Renee Stahl and Jeremy Toback (also the original bassist of cult grunge band, Brad) combine as R&J to create a flavor of low harmony all their own. The Big Takeover wrote of 2021’s Whole Lotta Love: “They have essentially taken a wealth of classic songs… and reinvented them as understated whisper-folk meets ambient minimalism… The world is a better place for them playing the covers card.”

The duo first came together to record soothing tunes for kids and families on 2006’s It’s A Big World, which has gone on to become a lullaby classic. 2012’s A Little Love, which featured Renee & Jeremy’s breezy acoustic take on Queen’s You’re My Best Friend, broadened their audience beyond the family set. Then after nearly a decade hiatus, they returned in 2021 with Whole Lotta Love and its indie-folk transformations of iconic tunes like Sweet Child O’ Mine, Kids, and Where Is My Mind?
