“She is a beacon of authenticity and fidelity to the margins.” – Father Gregory Boyle, founder of Homeboy Industries
The nation’s foremost leader in efforts to abolish the death penalty, Sister Helen Prejean ignited a national debate on capital punishment with her bestselling book Dead Man Walking and the Academy Award-winning movie, play and opera it inspired. Prejean has spent her life campaigning against the death penalty, counseling individual death row prisoners and working with murder victims’ family members. Her newest book, River of Fire: My Spiritual Journey, is a prequel to Dead Man Walking. Prejean will discuss her journey of faith and spirituality, doubt and belief and “catching on fire” to purpose and passion.
This presentation will be followed by a Q&A with the audience.
