With the sun shining and the soft ocean breeze rolling in, Santa Claus took a break from the cold North Pole to visit the animals at the Santa Barbara Zoo Tuesday.  Santa roamed the zoo for almost two hours, first stopping to feed the Humboldt Penguins and “ho, ho, ho-ing” as he tossed fish into the popular exhibit.

After the feeding, Santa enjoyed the classic zoo train ride. He enjoyed behind the scenes views of the white handed gibbons, giraffes, and Ralph, the proud new lion father.  A quick walk over to the giraffe observation deck, Santa got to share some delicious lettuce with Adia, the giraffe.  At the finale stop, Santa held a two-year-old endangered box turtle before returning to the North Pole to get presents ready for Christmas.
