on Google Mel’s Lounge served its last drink in the Paseo Nuevo mall nearly a year ago, but thirsty patrons may be quenched again soon. Owner Mike Knapp confirmed rumors of a possible reopening of the bar at 209 West Carrillo Street, former site of Quantum. Knapp made it clear, however, that Mel’s has a few more hurdles to clear as far as obtaining proper permits.
