Kelsie Bryant and Nick DePuy thrive in the big matches. Bryant, a Carpinteria High senior, captured the Tri-Valley League girls tennis singles title, giving her four straight league individual championships in her career. DePuy, a sophomore, scored game-winning goals against UC Davis and Cal Poly, lifting the UCSB men’s soccer team to a Big West Northern Division title and a giving it home-field advantage in the conference tournament.

Bryant accomplished a rare feat by winning a fourth straight league singles title. She’s dropped only 10 games all year en route to a 46-0 record.

DePuy scored a 99th-minute golden goal to beat UC Davis 1-0 and tallied a pair of first-half goals in a 2-0 win at Cal Poly. With his three goals on the week, the 6-4 DePuy now has seven goals in 11 games since moving from the midfield to forward. Five of those goals have been game winners.
